Aged Care Physiotherapy Services
Comprehensive mobile physio services in Sydney, tailored to the unique needs of older Australians and delivered in the comfort of your home.
Mobile Physiotherapy Services We Offer
Our physiotherapists are trained in geriatric care and provide evidence-based treatments to help you maintain independence and quality of life. Not sure about costs? Many clients receive fully government-funded physiotherapy.
Falls Prevention
Falls are a leading cause of injury in older Australians. Our comprehensive falls prevention program uses validated screening tools to identify individual risk factors - including muscle weakness, poor balance, medication side effects, and environmental hazards. Your physiotherapist will design a progressive exercise program targeting your specific areas of concern, with regular reassessment to track improvement.
- Falls risk assessment
- Balance and strength training
- Home environment assessment
- Gait retraining
Post-Surgery Rehabilitation
Recover safely at home after surgery with our tailored rehabilitation programs. We work closely with your surgeon and GP to follow post-operative protocols, progressing exercises at an appropriate pace for your stage of healing. Early mobilisation and guided rehabilitation may help reduce recovery time and support a return to daily activities.
- Hip and knee replacement rehab
- Fracture rehabilitation
- Cardiac surgery recovery
- Progressive exercise programs
Mobility and Strength Training
Maintain your independence with programs designed to keep you moving. Age-related loss of muscle mass and joint flexibility can affect your ability to perform everyday tasks such as getting out of a chair, walking to the shops, or climbing stairs. Our physiotherapists use graded strengthening and mobility exercises tailored to your current ability and goals.
- Walking and mobility training
- Resistance exercises for strength
- Wheelchair mobility
- Transfer training (bed, chair, toilet)
Pain Management
Evidence-based treatments to help manage chronic pain and improve comfort. Persistent pain in older adults is often linked to conditions such as osteoarthritis, spinal degeneration, or post-surgical changes. Our approach combines hands-on manual therapy with active exercise strategies and education about pain management, aiming to reduce discomfort and improve your ability to participate in daily activities.
- Arthritis management
- Back and neck pain
- Joint stiffness and flexibility
- Manual therapy and massage
Neurological Conditions
Specialised physiotherapy for neurological conditions common in older adults. Conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis affect movement, coordination, and balance in different ways. Our physiotherapists use condition-specific approaches - including task-specific training, cueing strategies, and progressive balance work - to address each client's functional challenges.
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Parkinson's disease management
- Multiple sclerosis support
- Movement and coordination exercises
Respiratory Physiotherapy
Breathing exercises and techniques to improve respiratory function. Respiratory conditions such as COPD, bronchiectasis, and post-operative chest complications can significantly limit daily activity. Our physiotherapists use airway clearance techniques, breathing retraining, and graded exercise programs to help improve lung capacity and exercise tolerance over time.
- COPD management
- Breathing retraining
- Secretion clearance techniques
- Exercise tolerance programs
Our Approach to Aged Care Physio
Every treatment plan starts with understanding your individual needs, goals, and circumstances. Here is how we work with you from the first phone call through to ongoing care.
How Assessments Work
Your care begins with a comprehensive initial assessment where your physiotherapist evaluates your mobility, strength, balance, pain levels, and functional ability. We also review your medical history, current medications, and any recent hospital visits or surgeries.
From this assessment, we develop a personalised treatment plan with clear, measurable goals. Your plan is reviewed regularly - typically every 6 to 8 weeks - and adjusted based on your progress. If your needs change, your treatment plan changes with them.
What a Typical Session Looks Like
Initial assessments generally take 45 to 60 minutes. This allows enough time for a thorough evaluation, goal setting, and usually some hands-on treatment in that first visit.
Follow-up sessions typically run 30 to 45 minutes and may include a combination of exercises, manual therapy, balance training, and education. Your physiotherapist will also provide a home exercise program so you can continue progressing between sessions.
Where Sessions Take Place
We come to you. All sessions are delivered on-site - whether that is your own home, an aged care facility, or a retirement village. Treating you in your own environment means we can assess real-world factors like flooring, furniture layout, bathroom access, and stair safety that directly affect your mobility and fall risk.
We bring all necessary equipment to each session. There is nothing you need to set up or prepare beforehand.
Coordinating Your Care
Physiotherapy works best as part of a coordinated care team. We communicate regularly with your GP, specialists, aged care providers, and family members to keep everyone informed about your progress and any changes to your treatment plan.
If you are receiving care through a Support at Home package or aged care facility, we work directly with your care coordinator to align physiotherapy with your broader care goals. We also provide written progress reports that can be shared with your GP or other health professionals involved in your care.
