We make home care package physiotherapy accessible through multiple funding pathways. Many of our clients receive fully government-funded physio with no out-of-pocket costs.
Support at Home
Formerly Home Care Packages
The Australian Government's Support at Home program replaced Home Care Packages from 01/11/2025. It provides funding for older Australians to receive care and support services in their own home, including physiotherapy.
Physiotherapy is fully government-funded
Physiotherapy is a Clinical Care service under Support at Home, with no participant contribution when provided under the program. Your aged care provider needs to confirm that the service is approved in your support plan and can be arranged within your available funding. This does not make every privately booked visit free.

Already on a Home Care Package?
If you were receiving services under a Home Care Package, your services continue under the new Support at Home program. You don't need to do anything — the transition is managed for you.

Complete an aged care assessment to determine your eligibility and support needs.
Once approved, choose Wellworx Physio as your physiotherapy provider and we'll coordinate your care. Contact us if you need help getting started.
Restorative Care Pathway
Formerly Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) Programme
The Restorative Care Pathway is a short-term, intensive program designed to help older Australians recover and regain independence after illness, injury, or a period of decline. It replaced the STRC Programme under the new aged care reforms.
Clinical services are fully funded — no client contribution
Physiotherapy and other clinical services under the Restorative Care Pathway require no out-of-pocket cost for eligible participants.
Duration
Up to 16 weeks per episode, with up to 2 episodes per 12-month period (minimum 3 months between episodes).
Budget
Approximately $6,000 per episode. An additional $6,000 may be available if intensive support is needed.

How to Access Restorative Care
Access to the Restorative Care Pathway is through an aged care assessment. Contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 to start the process. NDIS, DVA & Medicare Funding Options
Not on an aged care program? We accept several other funding and payment options for our physiotherapy services.
DVA
We are an approved Department of Veterans' Affairs provider for eligible veterans and war widows/widowers.
Medicare (GPCCMP)
With a valid GP referral and eligible care plan, Medicare usually provides rebates for up to 5 individual allied health services per calendar year, shared across professions. Eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients may access up to 10. Your GP assesses eligibility; we check the referral, services remaining and any gap before booking.
Private Health Insurance
We provide receipts for you to claim from your health fund. Check your extras cover for physiotherapy benefits.
Funding information checked 11/09/2026. New GP care plans use the GP chronic condition management plan (GPCCMP). Eligible older GP management plans and team care arrangements prepared before 01/07/2025 can support services under the transition rules until 30/06/2027. Referral validity and the annual service allowance are separate checks. Check your current service approval, available budget and any gap before booking.
